Noosa River and Lakes weekend November 2010
We all stayed at Noosa Caravan Park at Tewantin.
On Saturday, the 13th, ten of us paddled across Cooroibar Lake to Noosa River and headed north to a few kilometers past John’s Landing boat ramp and camping area. On the way back we took a break at John’s landing. The lake was very shallow on the way out and most of us portaged across a sand bar. On the return journey it was deeper with the wind behind us. Lunch at Cooroibah Park watched by the Kookaburra was well earned.
Sunday there was only eight of us who set off from Elanda Point,on Lake Cootharaba, headed towards the Sand blow to Kinaba. Tide was extremely low when we got there, apparently as low as it gets. Met a lovely family out for a Sail/Paddle two adults and 4 kids on a trimaran that had foot peddles and sails, kids were having a great time. Short break there then paddled up the Everglades past Fig Tree Point. Stopped a few kilometres before Harry’s Hut turned back and had morning tea at Fig Tree Point. Paddle back across the lake was assisted by the wind and some of us had a few good rides.
Lunch at Boreen Point the home for us all. A great weekend
